The selected candidate is expected to:
·         Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
·         Work with functional managers to identify and assign required resources.
·         Coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
·         Consistent with customer expectations and project scope, define the project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout the project’s life cycle.
·         Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of the assigned project(s).
·         Effectively apply STAR Dynamics Corporation’s PM methodology.
·         Minimize company exposure and risk on assigned projects.
·         Manage day-to-day client interaction.
·         Set and manage client expectations.
·         Develop lasting relationships with client personnel that foster client ties.

 

·         Be a change agent by leading the identification, discussion, approval and implementation of new and innovative PM processes and, the improvement of existing PM processes and methods.
·         Mentor less experienced Project Managers.
·         Effectively communicate internally and with customers at all levels.
·         Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, and resource utilization
·         Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
·         Identify business development and "add-on" sales opportunities as they relate to a specific project.
·         Supports proposal efforts as required.
·         Define project scope, goals, deliverables and budgets that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
·         Develop full-scale project plans and associated documents.
·         Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
·         Where required, negotiate with functional managers and other Program Managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
·         Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
·         Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
·         Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
·         Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
·         Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
·         Track project milestones and deliverables.
·         Develop and deliver progress reports and presentations.
·         Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans.
·         Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
·         Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
·         Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
·         Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
 
 
Required Qualifications:

 

Requirements
·         Bachelors degree in Engineering (Masters preferred) with the ability to understand general design and implementation issues in the areas of mechanical, electrical, RF, digital and software engineering.
·         Minimum 10 years direct work experience in a project management capacity with significantly complex projects (multidisciplinary, multiyear NPD projects), in a matrix organization. Same level of experience managing large cross functional teams.
·         Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project.
·         Competent and proficient understanding of military requirements.
·         Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

 

·         Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
·         Flexible during times of change.
·         Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
·         Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management and clients.
·         Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
·         Product and service management experience preferred.
·         Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity.
·         Strong written and oral communication skills.
