Job description:
This is a new product development position. The Staff Digital Engineer is responsible for product architecture and detailed design. This person will primarily design and develop custom high-speed data acquisition and digital signal-processing cards for precision radar tracking and radar cross section (RCS) measurement systems. The Staff Digital Engineer will coordinate with research scientists and software staff and may provide technical guidance for one or more product or feature development teams.
 
 
Responsibilities:
1. Researches requirements and designs product architecture and shares overall product responsibility.
2.  Designs and develops digital subsystems.
3. Implements and tests digital subsystems and signal-processing firmware.
4. Works in conjunction with software development team to ensure system meets operational requirements.
5. Provides technical guidance and training to engineering staff.
6. Actively participates in development of best engineering practices.
7. Other duties as required.
Required Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent (Masters preferred)
 
Required Experience:
Minimum 10 years professional experience
Minimum 4 years complex multi-layer digital board design
Minimum 4 years FPGA development
Minimum 1 years in behavioral VHDL
Logic simulation experience (e.g. Aldec, Modelsim, etc.)
Excellent hardware/software troubleshooting experience and solid analog/RF foundation

 

 

US Citizenship is Required
Desired Qualifications:

 

Preferred qualifications:
Digital FPGA filter design experience and high-speed communications protocols (SFPDP, Ethernet, etc.)
Xilinx FPGA development experience (e.g. Virtex II)
Altera FPGA development experience
Expertise with MATLAB simulation (filter design, FFT, etc.)
Radar imaging and/or tracking experience (SAR, ISAR), RF, electromagnetic theory
