Position Summary
The Digital Engineer will be part of a design team responsible for the design and development of custom high-speed digital signal-processing cards and firmware for STAR Dynamics’ next generation precision tracking radars and radar cross section (RCS) measurement systems. The Staff Engineer will specialize in the use of Xilinx FPGA, MPSoC and RFSoC technologies for supporting real-time signal processing applications.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Capture design requirements.
- Designs and develops digital subsystems.
- Performs VDHL/Verilog firmware development.
- Works with embedded software engineers to develop architectures.
- Perform hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Generates product documentation (Interface Control Documents, theory of operation, etc.)
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
- Xilinx FPGA development.
- VHDL Programming.
- Logic simulation experience (e.g. Vivado, Aldec, Modelsim, etc.).
Physical Ability
- Must be physically agile and able to support hands-on work with large indoor and outdoor radar systems.
- Must be able to lift, carry and mount electronics equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. into chassis or structures.
Travel
- Less than 15%
Preferred Qualifications
- Xilinx MPSoC development experience.
- Xilinx RFSoC development experience.
- Digital circuit design experience
- Radar imaging and/or tracking experience (SAR, ISAR), RF, electromagnetic theory.
Citizenship
- Must be a United States Citizen.
