Strong Start to 2026 for STAR
It’s been a non-stop start to 2026 for the team at STAR Dynamics!
April 20, 2026 | 5 MINUTE READ
This week, EuCAP is taking place in Dublin. We are exhibiting and looking forward to taking the opportunity to talk face-to-face with our existing and potential customers at the show.
Radar is in Demand
Already this year we’ve confirmed the delivery of four custom radar systems to the US Army, Air Force, Navy and to private industry customers. In addition to the systems that have already shipped so far this year, we are working on the production of six new radar systems for various customers in the defense and commercial markets.
The radar market is experiencing heightened demand due to increased spend in the face of increasing geopolitical instability. This is fueling the radar market, which is the lynchpin of modern Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities. According to Fortune Business Insights, the global surveillance radar systems market size was valued at $11.04 billion in 2024 and is forecast to grow to $23.60 billion by 2032, exhibiting a compound annual growth rate of 9.7% during the forecast period. This growth is predicted against the backdrop of heightened demand for defense equipment triggered by the requirement for militaries to further strengthen their ISR portfolios.
Market Heritage
At STAR Dynamics, our heritage, knowledge and innovative and customer-led approach has resulted in a reputation for highly effective, tailored radar systems that deliver and exceed customer briefs.
“We’re experiencing significant demand for our systems from a mixture of defense and commercial customers,” comments Dave Pinnell, Vice President, Business Development. “We have over thirty radars worldwide under active support by our trusted teams and several systems that are slated for upgrades to the latest technology. We constantly innovate and undertake intense R&D to ensure that our systems meet the rigorous demands of the ever-evolving threat environment.”
Key Developments
The STAR Dynamics team is also accelerating adaptation of Flat Panel Array (FPA) technologies for Time-Space-Position-Information (TSPI) and Radar Cross Section (RCS) applications including Focal Plane Feed Arrays (FPA) that can provide significant performance improvements with fewer feeds in a compact range environment. FPA technology offers a range of benefits to users, including high-speed and effective beamforming and beam diversity allowing the system to transmit and receive in a wide range of operating environments as well as meeting size, weight, power and cost considerations.
