XSTAR DSR CW Doppler tracking radar is available in several models and power levels to meet any operational requirement. With up to 80 Watts per transmit-antenna panel, the DSR illumination power is based on the number of panels activated, meaning it can be configured from 80 to 1,280 Watts of total radiated power. But even with its high-power performance, XSTAR DSR can still be continuously operated in hot desert climates—without the risk of overheating—by circulating ambient air to keep the system cool. It's also built with a phase-adjustable output, providing a variable control of transmitter beam width without loss of transmitter power.
XSTAR DSR
XSTAR DSR
Mobile Doppler scoring radar for diverse weapons testing scenarios.
XSTAR DSR is an advanced, CW Doppler tracking radar that can acquire and track multiple energetic, in-flight objects. It also provides precision TSPI and Doppler data during tests of a variety of weapons, including artillery projectile tests, missile/rocket firings, ejection-seat tests, gun-systems tests against air-to-ground weapons, air-to-air engagements, drone launches, bomb/small-missile flight-trajectory TSPI, and impact-scoring UAV tests. And as a CW Doppler TSPI radar, XSTAR DSR is one of the most qualified products available to perform critical weapons testing, especially after we’ve enhanced its design to offer maximum flexibility during these RDT&E scenarios without sacrificing performance.
The XSTAR series of CW Doppler tracking radars are commercial off-the-shelf systems developed to satisfy U.S. DoD major range test facility base (MRTFB) research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) requirements for open-air flight-test programs.
Fast
1 hour set-up time for a single operator
Clear
HD display with triple-screen and live camera video
Mobile
Lightweight, single-axle trailer, no specialized towing vehicle required
Convenient
Remote control capabilities using its MILSPEC rugged computer

We have contained XSTAR's high-power design in a small, mobile configuration without sacrificing any of its performance capabilities, making the system easy to position and operate for any test scenario. It provides high-quality TSPI and Doppler data for post-mission analysis and generates real-time TSPI for designating other sensor systems, with the option to present real-time data to users, customers, and other observers at an operations center.
